Caucus Information

What is Caucus?

A caucus is a local meeting of Democrats in your neighborhood or voting precinct. It’s usually the first step in the party’s ballot nominating process.

At a caucus, Democrats come together to:

  • Meet others in their community

  • Elect precinct organizers and local party leaders

  • Elect delegates to represent the precinct at the county assembly

  • Begin shaping the priorities and direction of the Democratic Party

Caucuses are open to registered Democrats who live in the precinct. Pre-registered 16- and 17-year-olds may also participate.

When is Caucus?

Precinct Caucuses Held In Person - Saturday, March 7th

If you are a registered Democrat and live in a precinct in one of the following Colorado House Districts, then your caucus will be in person on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Locations and times vary.

Precinct Caucus Held Online - Wednesday, March 4th

If you are a registered Democrat and live in a precinct in Colorado House District 56 , then your caucus will be online on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. Register for the HD56 Precinct Caucus Zoom here.

How do I know which house district I live in?

To find your house district and precinct number, follow these steps. 

1. Go to the Colorado Secretary of State's website.  

2. Look up your voter registration. 

3. Confirm your party affiliation says "Democratic"

4. Go to the tab labeled "County & District Information"

5. Your precinct number is the last three digits of the number listed after "Precinct" on the first line

6. Your house district number will be listed a little way down the list, after "House District"
