Thanks to Senators Mary Hodge and Lois Tochtrop, as well as Rep. Cherylin Peniston, for the arrangements made for Ad-Dems and friends who attended a rare evening visit to the state Capitol on November 5. We were permitted to view the Senate and House from the respective floors, and the group appreciated the Senate Hearing room where Sen. Pat Steadman joined Sen. Tochtrop in leading a committee hearing. Karen Dunn and Bob Knapp showed the importance of a citizen legislature with members dressed in costumes as they explained who can be members of the General Assembly. Bob told of the reasons for voting Democratic, including holding the vital chairmanship of committees within the Legislature. Refreshments finished the evening in the office of Rep. Peniston.
